1. Q: How many capsules are in one bottle?

   A: The one month supply bottles contains 30 capsules.

The three month supply bottle contains 90 capsules.



2. Q: What is the shelf life?

   A: The Purple Defense has a 2 year shelf life.



3. Q: Where and how should I store this?

   A: We recommend storing this in a cool dry place; at room temperature.



4. Q: What is the capsule made out of?

   A: It is a vegetable capsule derived from cellulose.



5. Q: Is it gluten free?

   A: Yes, the Purple Defense is gluten free. However, it is manufactured in a facility that is not gluten free.



6. Q: Are they suitable for children?

   A: We recommend that children over the age of 4 should take them as directed by their physician.



7. Q: What is the age recommendation?

   A: We recommend those over the age of 18 one capsule per day. It can be suitable for children as well, however we recommend children 4 years and older to consult your physician.



8. Q: Are any ingredients in the product organic?

   A: The Plum and Black Currant are organic ingredients.



9. Q: Why should I take it?

   A: To optimize your defense system against free radicals. This is the most powerful antioxidant that Dr. Mercola recommends.



10. Q: Where are the grapes derived from?

    A: The grapes are derived from China, and the product is manufactured in the United States. We can assure you that Dr. Mercola spends countless hours researching, testing, and finally approving products that he believes will be of the highest quality for his customers.

    A: Each ingredient is responsible for the following:

• OxyPhyte grape seed extract – This grape seed extract comes with a potent 90% polyphenol formula for amazing antioxidant potential.*
• OxyPhyte grape skin extract – Along with the grape seed, combines to deliver a potent formula of 10% resveratrol.
• Organic black currant – This organic powder provides added healthy nutrients and quercetin, a polyphenol compound with potent antioxidant activity.
• Organic plum extract – This powerful extract rounds out the formula with a great source of fiber, potassium, vitamin C, and other nutrients that help promote your healthy vision.

12. Q: Can I open the capsules and just take the powder?

    A: This was designed to be swallowed as a whole, and absorbed in the churning of your stomach, therefore we do not recommend opening the capsule when taking them.



13. Q: Is it safe to consume while pregnant or nursing?

    A: Yes, it is very safe to take during pregnancy and/or nursing however we would still suggest contacting your physician.



14. Q: Is it safe for diabetics?

    A: There is a low amount of naturally occurring sugar, and we would recommend taking these along with a meal including adequate amounts of protein and fat. We also suggest contacting your health care provider to ensure the safety of taking this product.

    A: We would recommend contacting your physician before taking this product if you have a medical condition.

    A: Yes, the bottle is recyclable.

    A: No, there is no corn present.

    A: The Purple Defense is free of Soy, Dairy/Milk, Casein, Maple, and Nuts. However it is manufactured in a facility that manufactures soy, gluten, and dairy.



21. Q: I am lactose intolerant will this be suitable for me?

    A: Yes, this can be suitable for you. However, as with all medical conditions we recommend contacting your health care provider.

    A: Yes, it is free of animal byproducts.

    A: No, it does not require refrigeration. We recommend keeping it in a cool dry place (at room temperature).

    A: It can be taken with food and water but is not required.

    A: There are 50 mg of resveratrol per serving.



27. Q: What kind of resveratrol is in the Purple Defense?

    A: The resveratrol is a combination of Cis and Trans-resveratrol.



28. Q: What is the ORAC value?

    A: There is a 3500 ORAC value.



29. Q: Do you do blood serum ORAC testing?

    A: We don't do any of our ORAC testing based on blood serum; the product is tested by Hydrophilic ORAC.



30. Q: How are the ingredients dried?

    A: Each ingredient is dried as follows:

• Organic Black Current Powder is Air-Dried.
• Organic Grapeskin Extract is Spray-Dried.
• Organic Grapeseed Extract is Spray-Dried.
• Organic Plum Extract is Spray-Dried.



31. Q: What kind of grape is this form?

    A: It is Vitis Vinifera L.



32. Q: Will this increase estrogen production?

    A: While the purple defense does contain micro nutrients that may aid in balancing hormones there is no known report of this creating a higher than normal estrogen production.



33. Q: What is the amount of emodin in the Purple Defense?

    A: The resveratrol in the final Purple Defense product contains < 0.6% emodin.



34. Q: Is the capsule enteric-coated?

    A: The capsule that is used in Purple Defense is not enteric-coated; it is a vegetable capsule.
